Helpful Apps and Websites in the Event of Disaster in Japan

I don’t want to scare anyone off visiting Japan, but it’s important to be prepared for typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or tsunamis. It’s unlikely to happen, but it’s still good to have a reliable app just in case.

When installing Apps, ensure they are issued by trusted sources, such as the Japanese government or local city councils. Please avoid installing unfamiliar apps, as some may charge unexpected fees.

X (formerly Twitter) is widely used in Japan; it’s a good idea to follow reliable sources, such as NHK or the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Please check trustworthy sources yourself in an emergency.
